HVAC stands for heating ventilation and air conditioning. It manages the climate inside the cabin by adjusting various parameters such as controlling the degree of hotness or coolness. In addition to this there are various components in HVAC System that are necessary for working such as evaporator it is also called as heat exchange device as it absorbs heat and boils all the refrigerant to vapors, compressor which absorbs vapor refrigerant from the suction line and compresses the vapors to high superheat vapor, condenser cools down the temperature of refrigerant as it passes through condenser coil, receiver/drier have two functions i.e. they have a storage container which stores extra refrigerant at low cooling demands this is receiver function and it contains a material called a desiccant which absorbs moisture from ac this function is called drier, and expansion valve generates the pressure difference for liquid refrigerant to boil off into gas. Moreover HVAC System in Automotive section is used in passenger car, commercial vehicle, and electric vehicle.

The heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system was considered as a luxury feature back in time and high-end cars would get or as an optional feature which was opted by paying extra money but today even entry level vehicles has HVAC System as standard. Desire for even more comfort and luxury has led to the development of the climate control system in Automobile sector. Moreover the HVAC System provides ambient thermal comfort for driver as well as passengers. Automatic climate control ensures appropriate cabin temperature automatically according to conditions regardless of outside temperature. Furthermore efficient HVAC systems also helps in saving fuel there by keeping appropriate cabin temperature and humidity. In addition to this HVAC system helps in defogging windows and windshields this ensures safety in harsh weather conditions by improving driver’s visibility. However, HVAC system has a high maintenance cost because this system consists of large number of components such as evaporator, compressor, condenser, receiver/drier and expansion valve. In case of failure of any part the repair or replacement is expensive and all the components have to go through extensive working condition and therefore, for smooth working of these components regular maintenance is required. Furthermore HVAC system jets out chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which is harmful for environment. Thus, maintenance cost and environmental concerns can hinder the growth of market
